Nominations open for 2022 Eugene F. Whelan Green Hat Award

UPEI'S Atlantic Veterinary College is seeking nominations for the 2022 Eugene F. Whelan Green Hat Award.

The award, established in 2000, recognizes those who play a direct role in the growth of the AVC. The award also acknowledges people who have supported the college’s vision, reputation and continued success among external stakeholders, as well as retired faculty and staff members of the AVC.

It is the greatest honour bestowed by the AVC, the university said.

The award was named after Whelan, who served as Canada's agricultural minister from 1972 to 1979 and from 1980 until 1984. Whelan played a central role in the development and establishment of the AVC.
