ATLANTIC BRIEFS DESK SW-BRIEFS @SALTWIRE.COM

“These guides provide practical information to those who need it.”

Ellen Mullaly

The Rise program is offering two new legal publications to help P.E.I. residents with reporting and prosecuting sexual assaults on Prince Edward Island.

The Reporting Sexual Assault: A Guide for Victims on P.E.I. and Sexual Assault Prosecution: A Guide for Victims on P.E.I. gives residents plain-language legal information about reporting and prosecuting sexual assault.

The Rise Program offers free legal support to those affected by sexual or intimate partner violence and workplace sexual harassment.

Community Legal Information (CLI), the company that created the Rise Program, gives understandable and useful information about the law and the justice system on the Island.

The publications were made with support from the P.E.I. Department of Justice and Public Safety.

“Rise is one more way that CLI promotes access to justice for Island residents," said CLI executive director Ellen Mullaly.

“Navigating the criminal justice system can be overwhelming. These guides provide practical information to those who need it.”

The free publication is available in French and English.

For print copies, call the program at 902-218-6143 and download the publication online at www.risepei.com.

Anyone who has experienced sexual or intimate partner violence or workplace sexual harassment is asked to contact the rise program at rise@legalinfopei.ca or by text/phone at 902-218-6143.
