Irish Ray, Therealprincess extend winning streaks

SUMMERSIDE – Irish Ray and Therealprincess kept their winning streaks intact during an all-stakes’ card at Red Shores at Summerside Raceway on Oct. 2.

Therealprincess had made 14 trips behind the starting gate at track across Atlantic Canada and scored win No. 14 in a $20,600 Lady Slipper Gold Division for three-year-old pacing fillies. Corey Macpherson steered the Source Of Pride filly to a 1:58.1 front-end romp.

Eddy Doucette co-owns and trains the undefeated sophomore with fellow Kensington residents Blaine Thibeau, Gordon Macleod and Grant Mann.

Irish Ray continued his unbeaten career in Lady Slipper trotting action with a 2:03.1 win in a $12,500 twoyear-old trot colt event. Marc Campbell trains and drives the nine-time winner for owner Three Wisemen Stable of Kingston.

Campbell had four winners on the day as he steered Whosyourfather to a 1:58.2 win in a $10,300 Lady Slipper Grassroots division for threeyear-old pacing fillies from the Larry Snow barn.

Campbell also won with Dreamfair Zenfire in 1:55.3 in the $5,230 Atlantic Aged Pacing Mares leg, presented by Standardbred Canada, and St Charlesfireball in 1:58.2 in the lone $34,800 Joe O’brien Memorial Gold Division for three-year-old pacing colts. Both horses are owned by Ryan and Everett Macleod of Souris and trained by Campbell to give the Orwell horseman the training triple.

Woodmere Jazz was victorious in the other $20,600 Lady Slipper Gold Division for three-year-old pacing fillies in 1:57.2 in line to Gilles Barrieau for owner Reg Macpherson and trainer Kevin Maclean.

One Of Them Girls (driven by Walter Cheverie) won the other $10,300 Lady Slipper Grassroots Division for threeyear-old fillies.

Howmac Agustus (David Dowling) won the $17,400 O’brien Grassroots Division for three-year-old colts in 1:58.1 from the Earl Watts barn.

Up Helly Aa (Ken Macdonald) was the best in the $13,475 Lady Slipper threeold trot colt division in 2:01.4 from the Clare Macdonald stable.

Along For The Ride won the $13,475 three-year-old trotting filly division in 2:05.1 for driver Ambyr Campbell with her father Brian Macphee doing the training.

Oceanview Miley (Kenny Arsenault) provided an upset in the $12,500 Lady Slipper two-year-old trotting filly category with a 2:04.3 victory for trainer Melissa Rennie.
