A P.E.I. man who had charges of intimidation to provoke fear in two provincial court judges transferred to Alberta is back before the court in this province.

Jeff William Clory's matters were originally on the Charlottetown provincial court docket on July 25 for pleas or an update on how they were proceeding in Alberta.

Instead, it was revealed in court that Clory, 47, was back in P.E.I. and the charges had also been transferred back to this province.

Clory is facing two charges of publishing personal information of Chief Judge Jeff Lantz and Judge Nancy Orr without lawful authority with the intent to provoke a state of fear in both judges. Clory is also charged with uttering a threat involving Lantz. The offences allegedly occurred while Clory was an inmate at the Provincial Correctional Centre between Feb. 25 and March 10.

Clory was arrested on March 16 and charged for those offences. At a show cause hearing on March 21, Clory was released from custody. He indicated at the hearing that he was moving to Alberta and having the charges transferred there as well.

Lantz was the trial judge when Clory was found guilty for property damage for slashing Orr's vehicle tires in front of the Georgetown provincial courthouse on Feb. 18, 2021. Lantz sentenced Clory on Feb. 25 to 20 days in jail, probation and restitution to Orr to replace the damaged tires. At sentencing, Lantz warned Clory that he could be facing charges in relation to communications with courthouse staff and other people.

On July 25, Orr told the court that another judge is available to take over Clory's matters depending on how they unfold. The intimidation and provoking fear charges are indictable, so Clory could also elect to have those matters heard by a different judge in P.E.I. Supreme Court.

Orr adjourned the matters to Aug. 22 to give Clory's P.E.I. lawyer Joel Wonnacott time to review disclosure from the Crown attorney's office.

Clory is also facing charges in Georgetown provincial court for allegedly assaulting a woman on Aug. 28, 2021, and uttering a death threat to the same woman on March 21, 2022.

Those matters are scheduled to be back in court on Aug. 25.
