Matthew Jelley re-elected as mayor of P.E.I.’S Resort Municipality

CAVENDISH, P.E.I. – Matthew Jelley is returning as mayor of P.E.I.'S Resort Municipality.

Initial results provided by the municipality from the municipal election on Aug. 8 listed Jelley as being reelected as mayor.

Former councillor Bill Drost challenged Jelley in the first contest for the mayoral seat in eight years.

Lee Brammer, George Clark Dunning, Kav Hryckiw, Linda Lowther and Chris Robinson were elected to municipal council.

This will be Jelley’s second term as mayor.

He was unopposed in his bid to lead the municipality in 2018.
