JUST THE FACTS

Following is information about restoration work done at Province House in Charlottetown:

• The building is comprised of 8,000 sandstones.

• After each one was carefully inspected by masonry experts, 3,800 stones were replaced and 1,300 stones were repaired.

• Of the 101 windows in the building, 90 had to be taken out and restored.

• Tim Chandler, senior project manager with Public Service and Public Procurement Canada, said the restoration efforts will make the building much more energy efficient than it was before.
