BALD EAGLES ARRIVE BACK TO RURAL NOVA SCOTIA
An eagle flies near the ground in Sheffield Mills, N.S., earlier this month. The number of eagles in the area has increased with the recent stretch of cold weather. “The migrants have arrived,” Sheffield Mills Community Association secretary Malcolm Lake said Jan. 24. “Yesterday, we had 100 eagles at the site.” He estimated about 80 people were at the site, located near the corner of Baines and Middle Dyke roads, on Jan. 23 watching the birds.
