During Sexual Assault Awareness Week, the government of P.E.I. is looking to hear from victims of adult sexual violence about how well government services helped them.

Sexual Assault Awareness Week runs until Sept. 24.

In a Sept. 20 release, the P.E.I. government announced a new survey that is looking to find out how well services supported adult victims of sexual violence. Those interested in participating can visit www.princeedwardisland.ca and follow the links.

“We want our communities to be safe for everyone and to ensure the right support is available for people who have experienced sexual violence,” said Natalie Jameson, minister responsible for the Status of Women .

The anonymous survey is looking to gather information about accessing support systems on P.E.I., as well as barriers that make accessing services harder.

The survey is also looking to hear how the government could improve services and make them easier to access.

The survey doesn’t ask any personal questions about the victim’s traumatic experiences and all responses are anonymous.
