ENMAN, Ira Leslie

On Wednesday, July 21, 2021, in his 100th year, of Ira Leslie Enman, of Summerside, passed away in the comfort of his home, after a brief illness with cancer. Born in Harmony, PEI, he was the son of the late Roy Enman and Gertrude (Ramsay) Meade. Ira also lived in Massachusetts, but his love of PEI drew him back in his retirement years. Ira, who was knighted by the Country of France in March 2017, proudly served Canada in WWII. Leaving behind those he loved, is his sister Dorothy Olsen; her daughters Donna Houle, ZoeAnn Carlson and Penny Jamerson; as well as his nephews Bruce Enman and Brent Enman, all of which reside in New Hampshire. Ira was also blessed to have many close friends on the Island. Ira was predeceased by his war bride Ellen (Price) Enman. When returning to PE, he was lucky enough to find happiness again with his late wife Dorothy (Yeo-Wright) Enman. He was also predeceased by his brother Elroy Enman. Words cannot express the profound appreciation to the Palliative Care Team of Health PEI. To those that gave willingly of their time to provide care for Ira, your love and compassion will forever be remembered. Resting at Moase Funeral Home Summerside. A private Visitation and Graveside Service will be held. Interment in the Victoria West Peoples Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Victoria West Peoples Cemetery or the Salvation Army Food Bank would be appreciated.
