Morgan Davis at the Trailside July 24

Morgan Davis will be bringing his one-of-a-kind, one-man blues show to the Trailside Music Hall in Charlottetown on July 24.

Davis has been touring Canada, the U.S. and Europe for 44 years. Combining traditional blues with original material, he performs solo, accompanying himself on electric guitar as well as a three-string cigar box guitar.

Along with multiple Maple Blues Awards over the span of his career, Davis received the Juno Award in 2003 for blues album of the year.

Davis has backed up many of the great names in blues, including Sunnyland Slim, Snooky Pryor, Hubert Sumlin, James Cotton and Dr. John.

He has also opened for Willie Dixon, John Lee Hooker, Albert King, John Hammond and Eric Bibb.

“Morgan Davis is making only one stop in P.E.I. this year, so don’t miss him if you’re a fan of the blues. He’s the definitely the real deal,” says owner Pat Deighan.

Tickets are available at www.trailside.ca, Back Alley Music or call 902-394-3626. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with music starting at 8 p.m.
