Winsloe Lions Hall continues Summer Series Ceilidh

ATLANTIC BRIEFS DESK sw-briefs@saltwire.com

The Winsloe Lions Hall will continue its Summer Series Ceilidh on July 26 with several musical guests.

The performers include Colleen MacPhee, Paulette Runighan and Emmitt DeCorsey. They will be joined by Brian Langille, Brian Knox and Judy Lowe.

There will be canteen services and a 50-50 draw. The show starts at 7 p.m. and the hall is wheelchair accessible.

To reserve tickets, contact Langille, 902-940-1217, or Lowe, 902-894-9901.

A July 22 release noted that Runighan has been playing and singing for many years. She enjoys playing at ceilidhs, benefits and concerts. This will be her first performance at the Summer Series Ceilidh.

DeCorsey, also a first-timer at the ceilidh, is a songwriter and a singer who has written many humorous and serious songs. Ceilidh-goers will hear him perform the computer song, which was written when computers first came out, and potentially a piece about roundabouts.

MacPhee, host of the Winsloe United Church Ceilidhs, also paid tribute to Rita MacNeil in the Lady Singers of our Century show that played many concerts across P.E.I. She is originally from Georgetown and performs many genres of music, but her specialty is MacNeil’s songs.
