MacLaren, McInnis lead Bombers past Jays
Jake MacLaren and Tyson McInnis led the Peakes Bogside Bombers to a 12-1 victory over the Charlottetown Jays at Memorial Field in Charlottetown on July 21.
MacLaren and McInnis each went 3-for-4 to lead the Bombers at the plate. MacLaren added an RBI and scored a run while McInnis had two doubles, two RBI and two runs scored.
Colin Myers (2-3, double, three runs scored, two RBI), Ethan Smith (1-1, triple, two RBI) and Sam Worth (1-2, double, two runs scored, RBI) also swung hot bats for the Bombers.
Mike Roberts hit a solo home run to account for the Jays’ lone run. Scott Cameron (2-2) and Robin Hood (1-2) also chipped in offensively.
MacLaren earned the pitching win, allowing only one run on three hits over three innings before Dillon Doucette came on in relief.
John Burke, who was relieved by Cameron, took the loss for the Jays.
