Mark your calendars for a number of festive holiday events, beginning this weekend.

The village is hosting its annual tree lighting on Nov. 26 at 6 p.m. in the front yard of the H. Douglas Boyce Village Hall. There will be outdoor entertainment provided by Ron MacKay Memorial Youth Band, as well as refreshments and a visit from a special holiday visitor to greet children. Donations for Colchester Food Bank will also be accepted.

On Dec. 4, the Bible Hill Garden Club will offer its annual centrepiece workshop at 1:30 p.m. Tickets are $10. Registration is required by calling the village at 902-8938083 and spaces are limited. All festive supplies will be provided but bring your own clippers and gloves if you have them.

Also coming up is the Light up Bible Hill Contest. Starting on Dec. 5 there will be a Facebook competition for the best lights and decorations in the village. Submissions must be submitted via email to admin@biblehill.ca by the resident, and must include one photo, the address and resident’s name. Your submission will be posted on the village’s Facebook page and the three submissions with the most “likes” on Dec. 19 at 10 a.m. will win.

Next up is the holiday ornament painting workshop. In collaboration with Clay Café, the village is hosting the workshop on Dec. 6 at 5 p.m. at the H. Douglas Boyce Village Hall. Tickets are $10. All festive supplies will be provided. Contact the office to register and pay with cash or cheque.
