Second teen arrested after fireworks tossed on TTC bus
Another teen was arrested Thursday for a fireworksrelated incident on a TTC bus in Scarborough, Ont.
Toronto Police say a 16-year-old boy, who can’t be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, is charged with three counts of mischief, two counts of assault with a weapon and two counts of possessing a weapon in connection with a pair of incidents last week in the Guildwood neighbourhood.
In the first incident, a boy was on a bus on May 24 in the area of Guildwood Pkwy.-livingston Rd. and allegedly threw firecrackers into a crowd of people waiting at a stop.
The boy then boarded another bus, where he also allegedly threw a firecracker. One person suffered minor injuries.
On May 25, the same boy boarded a bus in the Guildwood neighbourhood and allegedly threw a lit firecracker. No injuries were reported, but the bus had to be evacuated due to smoke.
The boy’s arrest came a day after a 14-year-old girl was charged with mischief endangering life for a similar incident this week in the Guildwood neighbourhood.
