Bridgewater police investigating swastika incident

Police are investigating reports of a man riding a bicycle in Bridgewater on Friday while wearing a swastika flag.

A Bridgewater police news release said they began receiving complaints of the man in the area of Dominion and High streets at about 3 p.m.

Officers were also made aware of a video circulating on social media showing the cyclist with the Nazi flag draped on his back.

Police said the man has been identified, and their investigation is ongoing.

“Our community will not tolerate the display of symbols of hate,” Bridgewater Mayor David Mitchell said on Twitter. “Police are investigating this and will update the public when more information is available.”
