One arrested after school hold and secure

St. Agnes Junior High School in Halifax was temporarily placed on hold-and-secure status Friday morning.

Parents were told shortly before 11:30 a.m. but the status was lifted about 10 minutes later. Several police cruisers responded to the school.

Halifax Regional Police spokesman Const. Nicolas Gagnon said officers were investigating a potential threat made online and had one person in custody.

Gagnon said there was no threat to public safety and the investigation was continuing.
