Coal Bowl hoop tourney opens on Monday

The 39th annual New Waterford Coal Bowl Classic will begin on Monday at the Breton Education Centre gym in New Waterford.

The six-day tournament will feature 10 teams from Nova Scotia, Quebec and Ontario.

The host Breton Education Centre Bears will play in the Doug Mackinnon Division along with the SAERC Saints of Port Hawkesbury, Hants North Rural Flames of Kennetcook, Northeast Kings Education Centre Titans of Canning and Polyvalente de L’anciennelorette Athlétiques of L’ancienne-lorette, Que.

The Mark Walzak Division will feature the Glace Bay Panthers, Riverview Ravens, Yarmouth Consolidated Memorial High School Vikings, Juvénat Notre-dame Insulaires of Lévis, Que., and St. Mark Catholic High School Lions of Manotick, Ont.
