TURNBULL (Tooley), Joan Patricia

December 15, 1929 – May 4, 2022. In the early morning of May 4th, Joan had kept Archer waiting long enough. Always the traveller, Joan caught a ride to heaven when the planets aligned, and Jupiter swung by Venus. Joan will be remembered for her sharp wit and fine humour. We will miss her love, intelligence, patience, support, understanding and quiet determination. Memories of hands that held babies and books; cats and crosswords, knitting and Nerf guns; sewed at a young age and rug hooked when older. Hands that cooked, cared, and cheered the Blue Jays. Community minded (RN, Eastern Star, A.C.W.) and social, Joannie never turned down an invitation to dine out, attend live music and theatre, get together, or go on an adventure. Joan was always grateful for everything anyone did for her. So, with that in keeping, thank you to the caregivers at A.V.H.C., Northwood and the Halifax Infirmary Staff. The most gratitude Joan felt was for her family. Their love, support and smiling faces filled her heart with joy. No favorites, she loved us all. She got that from her mother, Ethel. Rest in peace. With love and gratitude from your children, Chris (Cindy) Turnbull, Pam (Bruce) Halverson, Lauren (Glen) Mugford; Elizabeth Woolaver (sister-in-law); Chris Duffy (nephew); grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. We invite you to join us for Joan’s last church service at Trinity Anglican Church, Digby, May 28th at 11 a.m. Interment will take place directly following in Forest Hill Anglican Cemetery, 103 Pleasant St., Digby. Memories may be shared at the cemetery or online at Lindsay’s Windsor Funeral Home at: www.lindsaysfuneralhome.ca
