MACRURY, Leroy

Age 84, passed away peacefully in Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital on Friday, January 21, 2022. Born in Glace Bay, he was a son of the late Dan Alex and Johenna Macrury. Leroy worked in construction and was a member of the Boilermakers Local 73. He very much enjoyed working on numerous construction jobs over the years making many friendships before retirement. He loved to play cards and go to ceilidhs. He is survived by his wife, Annie (Macintosh); children, Dennis, Vanessa, Colleen Gillis (Barry); and granddaughters, Hannah and Chloe, who always brightened his days. He is also survived by sister, Dolena; sister-in-law, Madelaine; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by sisters, Beverly, Margaret Rose, Marguerite; and brothers, Lawrence, Jimmy, Sheldon and Angus. Hospital, Dr. Susie Egar, Dr. John Ritter, the Palliative Care team and Dr. Joanne Ferguson. Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation. A private memorial service will be held in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Whycocomagh for family members only due to current COVID19 restriction.
