Woman dead following Colchester County fire
One woman is dead after a house fire in Colchester County Sunday morning.
Salmon River firefighters were called to the bungalow on Salmon River Road in Murray Siding just after 4:30 a.m. and found a large amount of fire in one part of the house. Six other fire departments were also called to the scene.
RCMP spokesman Cpl. Chris
Marshall said after the flames were knocked down and firefighters could get inside they found the 67-year-old victim in a section of the house that the fire hadn’t spread to, but that had been filled with smoke. Efforts to revive the woman by firefighters and paramedics were unsuccessful and she was pronounced dead at the scene.
No one else was in the home and there were no other injuries.
