SMITH, John "Binnie"

Age 86, of Dartmouth, passed away November 28, 2021 in Glasgow Hall, Dartmouth. Born in Cooksville, Ont., he was a son of the late James and Mildred Smith. Binnie was a boatswain with the Royal Canadian Navy until his retirement. He was an avid gardener, and loved walking his dogs. He is survived by his wife, Amy Annette Smith (Campbell); daughters, Susanne (Gordon) Wainwright, Heather (Len) Edmonds, Sandra (Pat) Reid, Karen Smith (Todd Gaudet); son, James (Lisa) Smith; stepdaughter, Vicki Willis; ten grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one great great-granddaughter. He was predeceased by daughter, Nancy Smith; sister, Frances Gillies; brother, Donald Smith. Cremation has taken place. A private family service will be held at a later date.
