Hovell, Macneil in good spot at Canadian seniors
Ashburn's Jeff Hovell shot a 79 on Wednesday and sits at 13 over at the Canadian senior men's golf championship in La Malbaie, Que.
Hovell, who shot 78 in the opening round, has a two-round total of 157.
On Tuesday, he opened with a 6-over 78 in the four-round national championship at Club de Golf Le Manoir Richelieu.
Brightwood's John Macneil had three birdies in a second-round 74. Macneil, who opened with an 84, is one stroke behind Hovell at 14 over 158.
The projected cut line is plus 15, but several groups of players were still on the course at press time.
The Links at Penn Hills golfers Terry Moore (87-77-164) and Terry Clarke (90-83-173) missed the cut.
