MACINTOSH, Catherine Louise

July 13, 1940September 20,2021. With heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Catherine Macintosh on Monday, September 20th, in Surf Lodge Nursing Home, Lockeport. Catherine was the daughter of the late Donald and Edith Brignell; and wife of the late Robert Macintosh Sr. Catherine will be lovingly remembered and missed by her children, Robert Jr. (Peggy) of Lunenburg; Eric (Shelly) of Shelburne; Johnny (Elaine) of Pubnico; Timothy (Ruth) of Lockeport; and Tracey (Shirley) of Lockeport; along with seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son in infancy, son Donald; and grandson, Myles. Catherine spent a great part of her life raising her family before going to work with her Aunt Audrey at Surf Lodge Nursing Home in Lockeport. Catherine also tried her hand as a cashier at Laing’s General Store. In later years, Catherine became a child caregiver before she retired to be a caregiver to her mom Edith. We will remember her for her quick wit and willingness to help others in need. She became an avid sports fan supporting the local high school teams. If there was a game happening in the gym, she was there. Catherine had a great passion for her fur baby “Riley” her great companion. Even in her illness, she never forgot her “baby”. A stuffed version stayed on her bed at all times. As the days and months go by and we miss you more each day, we will hold onto the memories you provided us with the love you showed for us, teaching us what was right and good. Until we meet again…. Arrangements are under the care and direction of H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Lockeport. Visitation for family and friends will be held in Lockeport Funeral Home today, Thursday, September 23rd, from 6-8 p.m. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, September 24th, in Lockeport United Baptist Church at 2 p.m. with Kent Blades and Steve Hiltz officiating. Interment will be held in Osborne Cemetery following the service. Memorial donations may be made to Lockeport United Baptist Church. The family would like to extend special thanks to all the staff at Roseway Hospital, Surf Lodge Nursing Home and Huskilson’s Funeral home for all the care and kindness shown.
