JOHNSON, Gloria Aileen

Age 72 of Windsor, Hants Co. We are heartbroken to share that our mom and loving wife to our dad passed away on Monday, September 20, 2021 in the warm arms of her daughters, siblings and handsome husband. Her son and the rest of our family were there in heart connection. She was loved to pieces! Surviving are her husband, Leroy “Hub”; daughters, Tanya and Teresa; son, Kevin; daughter-in-law, Hasnat; and grandson, Kieran; sisters, Dorothy Macdonald and Betty (Dwight) Johnson; brothers, Bell (Violet) and Douglas Jr. (Lynda) Upshaw; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Douglas and Elsie Upshaw; nephews, Bellery Whitehead and Catlin Upshaw; several aunts and uncles. Mom was a devoted member of Windsor Plains United Baptist church. She will be remembered for her love of quilting, knitting and gathering with family in the kitchen making her wellloved and delicious pies. Let’s not forget her chow, beets and homemade strawberry jam! Her eyes sparkled to see her grandson Kieran following in her love of cooking. She was also a faithful “Hockey Mom” who spent many a weekend in rinks long before there were heated seats in a car. Mom discovered she had a love for travel later in life and would look forward to her yearly shopping adventure to Maine on the bus. She has been the love of our dad’s life for 53 years. Arrangements are under the care of Lindsays Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King St., P.O. Box 2218, Windsor, NS B0N 2T0. We invite her friends and family to join us at a graveside homegoing service (COVID-19 rules apply and feel free to bring a lawn chair) at 2 p.m. Friday, September 24th in Maplewood Cemetery, 1186 King St., Windsor, Rev. Garnet Parker and Rev. Glenn Gray officiating. On-line condolences may be sent by clicking on “Guestbook” at: www.lindsaysfuneralhome.ca
