P.E.I. to host two Mackenzie Tour events

The Mackenzie TOURPGA Tour Canada will spend two weeks in Prince Edward Island this summer.

The Canadian professional golf tour announced on Thursday it will return to action in 2021 after the COVID-19 pandemic forced the cancellation of last season.

Eight tournaments are scheduled beginning in late July with the Mackenzie Investments Open in Blainville, Que. (July 26 to Aug. 1). Following a two-week break, the Osprey Valley Open will be staged in Toronto from Aug. 16 to 22. The feeder circuit for the Korn Ferry Tour will then head to eastern P.E.I. for a pair of events: the Prince Edward Island Open (Aug. 23-29) at Dundarave Golf Club and the Brudenell River Classic (Aug. 30-Sept. 5) at Brudenell River Golf Course.

It's the only stop in the Maritimes for the Mackenzie Tour. The HFX Pro-am was held at Oakfield Golf and Country Club in 2019.

The tour will travel west to B.C. and Alberta for the final four tournaments of the 2021 schedule, concluding in October.
