Eagles, Mooseheads in QMJHL lottery

The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League will hold its annual draft lottery on Tuesday for the 2021 entry draft, scheduled for next month.

The Cape Breton Eagles will participate in the draft lottery after the club finished the regular season 17th overall in the league standings.

Cape Breton will have six balls in the lottery and has a 28 per cent chance of landing the first overall pick on June 25.

The Baie-comeau Drakkar have the best odds of winning the lottery. The team, which finished 18th overall, will have nine balls in the lottery and have a 43 per cent chance of getting the top pick.

The Sherbrooke Phoenix (three balls - 14 per cent chance), Quebec Remparts (two balls - 10 per cent chance), and the Halifax Mooseheads (one ball - five per cent chance) will also participate in the lottery event.

Cape Breton cannot pick later than fourth overall due to their 17thplace finish.
