LEBLANC, Patrick Joseph

Age 85 of Wedgeport. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our father and Papa, “Pat à Charles à Fred à Liboire”, on May 26, 2023 in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born on October 20, 1937, he was a son of the late Charles and Philomene (Pothier) Leblanc. Patrick dedicated much of his life to doing business in the seafood industry, most proudly owning the 3rd-generation family business (now in its 5th generation): A. L. Leblanc Limited. Throughout the years, he did business in lobster in Canada and the United States herring seining, marine hardware (which he started), boatbuilding, raising sheep on the Tusket Islands, and more. In addition to the family business, Patrick was very proud of his daughter and successor, Lisa, and his grandchildren, Tasha and Brandon. Patrick is survived by his wife of almost 60 years, Marilyn (Ellis); daughter, Lisa (Martin) Doucette; grandchildren, Tasha (Jean-marc) and Brandon; great-granddaughter, Austyn; and sister, Anne (Kim) Stone of New Glasgow. Aside from his parents, Patrick was predeceased by his brother, Alfred (Gladys) Leblanc. A special thank you to the women at Treasured Memories, Doctor Webster and Marilyn, and the doctors and nurses at Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Visitation will be held in Saint Michael’s Catholic Church in Wedgeport, at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 31st, followed by a funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. If desired, donations may be made to the Wedgeport Fire Department, the Gilles Boudreau & Friends Cancer Help Fund or a charity of your choice.
