BASELESS OPINIONS

Ken Mallett’s June 24 letter, “Job killers on a roll,” is a perfect example of one of the hazards of our times. Everyone has an opinion. People are happy to express them, whether the opinions have any foundation in reality or not. The number of people out there infected with opinions that have little or no factual basis is another “pandemic.”

We need to take the time to become informed, as opposed to simply having opinions. However, being informed takes dedication, time and energy. It’s a lot easier to just have an opinion.

Mr. Mallett has his opinions about the viability of Alton Gas, the now-defunct golf course at Owls Head and gold mines. Too bad he is not very informed. Karen Schlick, Musquodoboit Harbour
