SMITH, Christopher David

Chris passed away on Thursday, January 20, 2022 in Riverview Enhanced Living (formerly Lahave Manor), Dayspring. He was born on October, 15, 1949 and was a son of the late Dr. and Mrs. Wylie Smith (of Bridgewater). Chris was born with spina bifida and the surgery performed at birth to save his life caused severe brain damage. For his first 35 years, he was lovingly cared for at home by his family. He had a special bond with his caregivers and the many family pets he had over the years. In 1983, he moved to his new home at REL Dayspring. He quickly adjusted to his fellow residents and the amazing staff of the Triview Unit became his other family. Chris always loved to go for drives and was a keen observer of all activities. The many outings and special event celebrations were truly appreciated. Chris was predeceased by his father, Wylie M. Smith and mother, Catherine A. Smith. He is survived by his brother, Sandy Smith; sister, Connie Smith (Guy); nephews, Callum Haughn (Juliette) and Jake Wentzel (Melissa). Cremation has taken place and will be followed at a later date by a family graveside service. No flowers by request; donations to Riverview Enhanced Living greatly appreciated or charity of choice.
