Canada sweeps Bahamas to open FIBA qualifier

Canada’s senior men’s national team defeated the Bahamas 113-77 Monday night to sweep the first window of the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 Americas Qualifiers in the Dominican Republic.

Canada opened with a 115-73 win over the Bahamas on Sunday.

Kyle Wiltjer paced Canada with a gamehigh 25 points. Kassius Robertson added 15 points and Phil Scrubb had 13.

Former Acadia Axemen star Owen Klassen collected four points and five rebounds in eight minutes of action on Monday.

There are six qualifying windows for the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023. Next up for Canada is the second qualifier, which will be held in February.
