SELF-CENTERED ATTITUDE

Re: “No shot, no doctor,” your Nov. 26 story delving into a medical complaint from Lower Sackville resident Tiani Berardi.

She is upset that she was unable to get access to health care because she was not vaccinated at the time. She feels a doctor’s job is to treat people, not turn them away based on medical status.

She is particularly concerned about those who may have experienced unnecessary delays in getting needed surgeries, prescriptions or procedures like routine checkups. She is now vaccinated, as it was a requirement of keeping her job. She says she is not opposed to the vaccine but believes people should have a choice.

In all of this, she shows no concern for the health, welfare, or ability to make a choice for all the folks who work in the health-care system. Many frontline health workers have passed away during the pandemic.

She shows no understanding of how her attitude, and that of likeminded people, have created those situations which she is concerned about. This is an example of how self-centered people can create havoc and then blame it on others. She plans to push this as far as she can. Too bad.
