THOMPSON (Jardine), Phyllis Marie

1939-2021. With sadness, the family of Phyllis Thompson announces her peaceful passing at home on October 21st. Born in Renous, N.B., she was the oldest daughter of the late Forrest and Gladys (Langan) Jardine. She grew up in Moncton and graduated from the Moncton Hospital RN class of 1960. In 1962 she married Harold Thompson and moved to Dartmouth, where she worked at the IWK Hospital and later at the Dartmouth General Hospital for 20 years until her retirement. She devoted herself to her family and taught us to care for each other and those around us. She was a loving and active grandmother. Phyllis is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Harold Thompson, her children, Beth, Blaine, Brad, Brent, and Dave; 12 grandchildren and two greatgrandchildren. She is survived by siblings, Faye and Rick; sisters-in-law, Joan (L.), Joan (S.) and Shirley; as well as her aunt Patricia Jardine; cousins and many nieces and nephews. A heartfelt thank you to all the caregivers who came in the home over the years. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia or IWK Health Centre Foundation. The funeral will be held in Port Wallis United Church on Friday, October 29th at 3:30 p.m. Following COVID regulations, proof of double vaccination and masks are required.
