SERSON, James William "Jimmy"

Age 57. It is with hearts as heavy as stone that we announce Jimmy’s passing on June 4, 2021 in the VG Site, QEII. Born in Halifax, he was the son of Dorothy Pynn and the late Ernest Serson. At the age of 16, Jimmy started working part-time at the Halifax waterfront and then becoming a permanent longshoreman enjoyed a 30-year career up until his retirement in 2020. Jimmy had a passion for pool where he made wonderful friends and won many trophies. Besides his mother Dorothy, he is survived by his sister, Bernice Laurette (Serson); nieces, Malorie (Adam) Stoddard, Melissa (Ian) Macphail, Alyssa Laurette; nephew, Billy Laurette; great-nieces, Peyton and Carlee Macphail; half-sister, Lisa Abel (Serson) as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins. Cremation has taken place under the care of Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Rd., Halifax. A celebration of Jimmy’s life will be held at a later date.
