HIGHLIGHTS:
• Nova Scotia is adding new restrictions on travel and shopping to control the spread of COVID-19.
• Border restrictions take effect on Monday, May 10, at 8 a.m. Nova Scotia borders will close to nonessential travel from P.E.I. and Newfoundland and Labrador. People who intend to move to the province, have bought a house or want to spend the summer here are not allowed to enter.
• Effective immediately, rotational workers who are returning home from outbreak zones can no longer do the modified form of self-isolation.
• Shopping restrictions take effect Saturday at 8 a.m. Nova Scotians must designate one shopper per household and retail stores that offer in-person shopping will impose a limit of one shopper per household. Exceptions will be made for children and caregivers.
• Nova Scotia has a backlog of over 200 positive cases that have not been reported or investigated.
• If someone is feeling unwell or is waiting on their COVID-19 test result, their entire household should go into self-isolation.
