Hello from beautiful downtown New Salem. It is nice now that the time change has occurred and the days are longer. *** The Advocate and District Development Association is undertaking its 50/50 draw again. Tickets will be drawn on the last Wednesday of each month. The Log Building is in need of a new roof, so this is one of the fundraisers. *** On Friday, March 27, the Advocate Community Bingo will be held at the Advocate fire hall at 7 p.m. Come out for an evening of fun and sponsor the Advocate Ladies Auxillary. *** The annual firemen’s pancake supper will be held from 4 to 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 4, at the Advocate Harbour fire hall. The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children younger than 12. *** Open mike will be at 7 p.m. Saturday, April 4, at the Advocate fire hall. Bring your voice, instrument and yourselves and enjoy an evening of great music. *** On Saturday, April 11, a baby shower for Ariana and Millard will be held at the Advocate Harbour fire hall from 2 to 4 p.m. Everyone is welcome. *** Ongoing events include: Tai Chi is being held at Chignecto Manor on Thursday evenings at 7. Meals on Wheels operates from Bayview Health Centre has had an increase in clients and is looking for volunteers. Meals are delivered on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. If you can help deliver or would like to receive this service call the Health Centre at 902392-5400: the kitchen at extension 6035 or the office extension 5402.
