Public tip leads to drug-impaired driving arrest in Summerside

SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. — Summerside police arrested a 33-year-old Prince County woman in a parking lot after a complaint from the public about erratic driving on Nov. 22.

Police said the caller reported the suspect vehicle nearly drove into the ditch on Route 2, then turned off onto Granville Street at noon.

Officers found the vehicle in a parking lot on Granville Street and contacted the driver.

The woman showed signs of impairment and was arrested at the scene for drug-impaired driving, police said.

Suspected crystal methamphetamine and other drug-related paraphernalia were seized from the vehicle.

Police took blood samples from the driver, who is set to appear in court at a later date to answer drug-impaired driving and drug possession charges.

Police said at the time that this was the third suspected impaired driver arrested in the last four days.
