Woman sentenced to 14 months in jail after police find cocaine in vehicle in Summerside

SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. — A judge has sentenced a Summerside woman to 14 months in jail after police found cocaine in a vehicle during a traffic stop in the city last year.

On Nov. 2, 2021, officers with the Prince District Joint Forces Operations (JFO) Unit conducted a targeted traffic stop in Summerside as part of a drug investigation.

Officers arrested Allison Winchester, 30, and seized four ounces of cocaine after searching the vehicle.

Winchester was charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking. She pleaded guilty to the charge on June 21 and was sentenced on Nov. 22.
