Brian McFeely is not seeking a third term on the council.

In a prepared statement, he said that it has been a privilege to serve on the council for the last eight years and encourages all residents to consider running for council.

“I want to express my thanks and appreciation to the residents of Ward 7: Greenshore-Three Oaks for putting their trust and faith in me these last eight years,” he said.

“I have tried to represent you to the very best of my abilities and, first and foremost, took my lead from you on various issues as they have arisen.”

McFeely currently serves as chair of the planning board and the economic development committee, as well as the vice-chair of the finance committee.

He served has previously served as the chair of the human resources committee, the culture and heritage committee and the policy review committee.

“Residents can be assured that with almost five months remaining in the term, I have every intention of continuing to discharge my responsibilities to council and the citizens of Ward 7 as I have in the past.”

P.E.I.'s next round of municipal elections is set for Nov. 7.
