P.E.I. woman fined for refusing to present proof of vaccination
SOURIS, P.E.I. - A woman has been issued a hefty fine for refusing to provide proof of vaccination while trying to enter a recreation facility in Souris. In a Nov. 22 release, Kings District RCMP said on Nov. 7, officers responded to a call at the Eastern Kings Sportsplex. Police said a woman trying to enter the facility refused to provide proof of vaccination and then wouldn’t leave when told she was not allowed to enter the building. The woman was charged and fined $1,000 for failing to comply with the Public Health Act. RCMP reminded the public that government-issued proof of vaccination is required to access some businesses, venues and services under the Public Health Act.
