Man sentenced for, trafficking meth and other offences

SUMMERSIDE – Kyle James Hainge has pleaded guilty to several charges related to drug trafficking.

The 34-year-old Summerside man has pleaded guilty to one count of possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking, one count of fraudulently obtaining credit, one count of helping someone fail to comply with a release order, one count of causing a disturbance in a public place, one count of possession of a weapon dangerous to the public (aerosol spray) and one count of committing an assault with that spray.

The charges are from dates throughout May to October 2020 and mostly took place in Summerside.

Hainge was sentenced to serve 14 months in jail and 18 months of probation. He must also submit a DNA sample to the national criminal database, must forfeit some property associated with the case and is prohibited from owning weapons for some time.

Some of the items seized included various drug dealing paraphernalia, various forms of meth, more than $1,000 in cash, Oxycodone pills, several knives, a machete and pepper spray.
