SUMMERSIDE — P.E.I. residents can now access their immunization records using the phone number they provided at the time of their vaccination. Access to the online portal used to retrieve those records was previously only available to Islanders who provided a health card number at the time of vaccination, the Department of Health and Wellness said in a July 13 release. Now, residents who provided a phone number at the time of vaccination can enter it into the COVID-19 Immunization Record portal to receive an access code for their immunization record. Residents who provided a landline number will receive an automated call with their code, those who provided a cell number will receive it via a text message. Those who provided their health card number can access their immunization record by entering their card number to log in. COVID-19 immunization records are updated and available online within 24 to 48 hours of vaccination. Those who provided neither a phone number nor a health card number can request a copy of their record by emailing vaxrecord@ gov.pe.ca. In the email, the Department of Health and Wellness advised residents to include their full names and daytime phone numbers. They can also call the COVID-19 Immunization Program toll-free at 1-844975-3303. A record of immunization may also be requested from a clinic or pharmacy at the time of vaccination.
