Two barbecue trucks approved

SUMMERSIDE — Two more food trucks have been approved to do business in Summerside this year.

High on the Hog, which has operated here for a few years and whose proponent is Tara Arsenault, has been approved to set up at the new Food Truck Village being built in the Harbour Quay parking lot off Heather Moyse Drive.

The second truck is a new business called Blowing Smoke, by Bernie Kiggins and Cory Rogers. It has been provisionally approved. The owners still have to supply the city with written permission from the landowner of a property they intend to establish themselves on. The property owner they had originally been working with was unwilling to provide such written permission due to legal liability issues, so Kiggins and Rogers said they will attempt to secure a backup location and accompanying letter. Once that is done their license will be issued.
