Rezoning application moves forward
SUMMERSIDE — An application to rezone an empty property at 30 Greenwood Dr. in Summerside, to allow for the construction of retail and office space, has been recommended for approval by Summerside’s Planning Board.
The property is currently zoned for light industrial use and until recently had housed an automotive repair business.
Summerside businessman and former MLA Chris Palmer recently told council that he is the proponent for this project and he intends to convert the building for use by several retail and office units. Work would begin this summer if the rezoning application is approved.
City council will make a final decision on the request at an upcoming June meeting.
