Man allegedly assaults his father

SUMMERSIDE — A Summerside man has been remanded into police custody after telling police he assaulted a family member.

Police received a call around noon April 30 in which the caller told the dispatcher he had assaulted his father, Summerside police said in an April 30 release.

When police arrived at the home, they found a man whose face had been injured, they also found and arrested his 38-yearold son for allegedly causing the injuries. The victim was taken to hospital and later released.

The Summerside man appeared in court April 30 to face charges of assault, causing bodily harm, uttering threats and mischief. He will remain in custody until his next court appearance May 3.
