CROWE, Margaret “Margie”

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Margaret “Margie” Crowe, 74, on October 1st, 2022. She died

peacefully in the company of family under the wonderful care of Hospice Cape Breton after a lengthy illness. Daughter of the late James “Jimmy” and Frances Bragg of Sydney, she is survived by her husband of

52 years, Mel; her three children, David, Stephen (Tam

mie), Dawn (Tony); her five grandchildren, Jessica, Jared, Rileigh, Megan, and

Brennan; and her beloved cat, Scooter. She is also survived by brothers-in-law,

Milo (Patricia), Charlie (Carol), Lowell (Darlene); and sisters-in-law, Coreen Griffin (Charlie and Edie Moffat-Crowe; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brother-inlaw, Merle. Margie will be fondly remembered by her family and many friends for

her love of life and her ability to bring laughter anywhere she went. She was an avid bowler who enjoyed the camaraderie as much as the competition. She was also a wonderful cook who loved to feed family and friends. Margie started her professional life as keypunch operator at Sydney Steel Corporation, later working various jobs as a data entry specialist before ending her career working as a scheduler for

City Homemakers, for whom she would later become a client. The family would like to thank the staff at City Homemakers for their sup

port and care over the years, the doctors who cared for and treated Margie throughout her illness, the staff at Cape Breton Regional Hospital Unit 4C, and the staff and volunteers at Hospice/Palliative Care. A visitation will take place at TW Curry Parkview Chapel, 755 George Street from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. on Thursday, October 6. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., in St. Theresa

Church 382 Whitney Ave., on Friday, October 7, with Fr. Evo DiPierro officiating. Following, Margie’s cremated remains will be laid to rest in

Resurrection Cemetery. For those unable to attend the service will be livestreamed via TW Curry’s Facebook page. Memories and condo
