EDDY (Pye), Edith

Edie was born in North Sydney in 1926 and died October 2, 2022, in Sydney. She was brought up in Birch Grove and Donkin. She moved to Dartmouth in the early sixties where she married Lloyd Eddy. Edie worked as an assistant custodian at Penhorn School until her retirement and continued to live in Dartmouth. In 2019 she moved to Seaview Manor in Glace Bay. She was predeceased by her husband, Lloyd, in 2009; her father, Jack Pye; mother, Mada Mills, and stepfather, Ray Mills. She is survived by cousins, Wilma (Darrell) Hubley, Stewiacke, Joan Atkinson, Wallace, Marion (Allan) McIntosh, Sydney, and Marion Morrison, Massachusetts. Also, survived by brother-in-law Walter Eddy, Musquodoboit Harbour, niece Donna Martin, and other relatives, including Cathy Burgess, Carol Benjamin, Corinne Lavoie, Melanie Coughlan, Lori Marenick, John McIntosh, Christopher McIntosh, Darrelyn Ferguson, Shelley Rzepus, and friends in Dartmouth and Cape Breton. Edie’s joyful spirit and memorable sense of humour will be cherished and missed by all. Visitation at the A.L. Mattatall Funeral Home, 217 Portland St., Dartmouth, on Thursday, October 6 at 11 a.m. with service at 1 p.m.. Burial in Holy Trinity Ceme
