The family of Marlene Florence (Doyle) Burke regretfully announces her passing on Friday August 5, 2022, surrounded by her beloved husband, Peter, and family. Marlene was born in Halifax, NS, daughter of the late Harry and Margaret (Nicolle) Doyle. She moved to her forever home of Cape Breton Island where she met her husband of nearly 52

years skating at the old Sydney Forum. Marlene spent her life focused on her students and raising their three sons, Brent (True), Dwayne (Leanne) and Andrew (Penny) and spending time with her cherished grandchildren, Owen, Reid, Olivia, Graham, Holly and Cade. She volunteered for many years in the Palliative Care Unit and was a long time member

of the CWL. In 1986, Marlene and Peter opened their loving home to her special brother Ray who she loved dearly. A large circle of extended family and friends are left to celebrate her remarkable life especially Carol (Bud) Farmer, Ray Doyle, Gary (Isabel) Doyle, Phyllis (Stewart) Matheson, Diane (Gordon) Lewis and Diane Doyle.
