Trial set on weapon offence

SYDNEY — A provincial court trial date has been set for a New Waterford mother while her son is to return to court to receive his trial date.

Dianne Carmel Hicks, 49, and Kyle Brian Hicks, 27, both of Hudson Street, are charged with assault with a weapon (a knife), carrying a weapon dangerous to public peace and uttering a threat.

The offences are alleged to have occurred March 26 in New Waterford.

Dianne Hicks has entered pleas of not guilty and assigned a trial date of Jan. 11, 2023.

Kyle Hicks is to return to court Wednesday to receive his trial date.
