Mooseheads double Eagles

HALIFAX — Elliott Desnoyers had three goals and five points, while Zachary L'Heureux recorded a goal and six points to lead the Halifax Mooseheads to a 6-3 win over the Cape Breton Eagles in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action at Scotiabank Centre, Sunday.

Markus Vidicek and Jordan Dumais also chipped in with a goal for the Mooseheads.

Ivan Ivan netted a pair of goals, while Émile HegartyAubin added a single marker for the Eagles.

Halifax's Mathis Rousseau made 25 saves. Cape Breton's Nicolas Ruccia stopped 36 of 41 shots.

Connor Trenholm returned to the Eagles lineup after missing four games with a lower-body injury.

Cape Breton will return to action on Friday when they travel to Moncton to play the Wildcats. Game time is 7 p.m. at Avenir Centre.
