Eagles fall to Scotians

TRENTON — The Eskasoni Eagles dropped their fifth straight Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League game on Sunday, losing 5-3 to the Pictou County Scotians at the Trenton Community Centre.

Matt Chediac recorded a hat trick, while Matt Carson and Connor Aucoin added single markers for the Scotians.

Jacob Denny, Thomas Simon and Jaden Martin replied with goals for the Eagles.

Pictou County's Brandon Connors made 32 saves. Eskasoni's Seth Crowe stopped 30 of 34 shots.

Eskasoni will return to action on Saturday when they play the Membertou Jr. Miners at the Membertou Sport and Wellness Centre. The team will return home on Sunday to play the Strait Pirates at 7 p.m. at the Dan K. Stevens Memorial Arena.
